Creature Feature lands in our shop!

Hello everyone. Just a quick note to say that we've put a large selection of pieces from Creature Feature into our online shop. With one of a kind pieces from the likes of Lucy Jane Batchelor, Hops Skip Jump, Sandra Monat and Le Train Fantôme, we're hoping you'll enjoy everything as much as we are. We know that not everyone can make it (although we wish you could!) so we'll be posting some more images of the exhibition after throwing back the branches this evening.

Wishing you all a good weekend.

Climbing Trees and the Walls.

With the aid of ladders, paintbrushes and some elbow grease, we've finally gotten most of the woodland in place. And slowly but surely, the creatures have begun to emerge and introduce themselves.

Sneak Peak Number 1!

Well, we have to say, it is all pretty exciting to have all these beautiful packages arriving for our upcoming Creature Feature. And as promised, here are a few shots. These pieces journeyed all the way from Australia, and are by Fliss at Udder .

Eagles, Planes and Alan Todd.

The Coastal Currents festival begins this weekend and we're busy with the final plans for our upcoming show of new work from Vic Reeves. Opening on the 13th of September, the exhibition will feature paintings inspired by the "enigmatic" film director Alan Todd's back catalogue of war films, artist's publications and a selection of prints. Oh, and did we mention that Vic has been kind enough to do a limited edition exhibition print for Black Lark?

Wish You Were Here: Print Giveaway.

As we embark on our second show, we thought it would be nice to do a little print giveaway. While Sarah Benton is offering one of her Post card prints for the gallery giveaway, all of you too far away to make it by the gallery, have a choice of any one of the three prints from Sarah Gardner's "Kind Sticks of Rock" series. They measure 5x7", and are giclee prints on high quality art paper. All you have to do is leave a comment telling us what message you would put in your stick of rock. It doesn't have to be kind. Or funny. Just meaningful to you. Somehow, we'll choose one of your comments and then you'll get to choose which print you would like. Then, it will arrive neatly in your postbox or mailbox (depending on where you reside).

Hope to hear from you soon.

Wish You Were Here

Roll up your trousers, grab your bucket and spade and paddle along to the Black Lark Gallery. Our upcoming exhibition Wish You Were Here brings together a selection of photographs, prints, sculptures and ephemera celebrating the British Seaside in all its glory and greyness. Contributing artists include Sarah Benton, Joanna Craven, Kate Iles and Sarah Gardner.

Print Giveaway

Come by any time up until the 25th of July and get a free ticket which will enter you into our prize draw for a selected exhibition print. Join us on the night of the 25th from 6pm onwards for hampers of sandwiches and flasks of tea when the winner will be chosen. We promise the tea will be warm and the sandwiches won't be full of sand, so we hope to see you then. And for those of you too far away, we'll be running a special blog only print give away. Check back next week for details.

Opening Doors...

Well, at long last we threw open our doors and were lucky enough to welcome in a whole host of wonderful people last Friday evening for a private view of prints from Keep Calm Ltd. Although it all seems a bit of a blur now, the weeks of paint encrusted fingers and late nights were definitely worth it. A huge thank you to everyone who has wished us luck and encouraged us on through example or kind words. And an extra large thank you to Lucas and Hayley of Keep Calm for gracing our walls with their splendid work.

With our heads still reeling from the opening rush, we're busily tweaking our upcoming exhibition schedule and getting in more stock for our little shop. Gosh, this summer will be busy!
